WINES AND WINERY
Domaine Avetissyan is a family-owned winery. Avetissyan family is the first who started to craft wines from a rare Khndoghni grape varietal. It is still unknown to the world indigenous vine that grows in abundance only in Artsakh. Due to its complex taste it is a very difficult variety to work with and only Domain Avetissyan with their passion and care managed to tame this wild beast. The key to Avetissyans family success is the ultimate devotion to the whole wine-making process. Having strong wine-crafting experience they surround each drop of wine that is born at their winery with an infinite care and meticulous control. The results are astonishing: appraised by many international sommeliers Kataro wines conquer hearts once and forever.

Domaine Avetissyan cultivates own vineyards of 11 hectars of Khndoghni and 2 hectars of Syrah grape varietals; average age of the vine is 20 years. Domaine Aveitsysan's vineyards are located at an elevation of 600-700 meters above the sea level. Mild winters and sunny summers contribute to harmonious ripening of the grapes, pure ecosphere gives the intensive and clearly distinctive taste. Hand-harvesting and sorting allows to follow the ancient wine-making traditions, while smartly combining them with the latest winemaking technologies.
Dry Red
Bottled after aging for 12 months. Brightly demonstrates grape's special taste and flavor. Red berries and cornelian cherry are dominant, with a lively touch of pomegranate. Notes of ripe sour cherry, medium long spicy aftertaste. Succulent and expressive, rich in tannins.

serve at 13-15 C, best with Armenian barbeque, meat dishes and strong local cheeses.

Dry Red Reserve
A tribute to Khnodghni grape varietal. It is aged for 1-3 years in the barrels from Caucasian oak sourced from local high-elevation forests. Rich in tannins, with strong and succulent taste, Has interesting aromas of blueberries and cotton candy.

to be served at 14-16 C. Best with meat dishes and strong cheeses.

Dry White
Elegant and floral, fresh and mineral with hints of citrus fruits and white peach.

Grapes
: blend of Queens of Armenian Highlands - Banants, Lalvari and Khatouni varieties, grown in Vayots Dzor region of Armenia. Average age of the vineyards - 25 years.
Aged in bottles minimum 5 months.

Sommelier advice:
to be served at 8-10 C. Ideally pairs with light cheese, fresh water fish dishes, fruits salads and caramel or vanilla based desserts.








Rosé
Fruity and elegant, fresh and crisp with strawberry and fruits notes, finishing with a distinctive minerality.

Grapes:
blend of Areni and Kakhet grape varieties, grown in Vayots Dzor and Ararat Valley in Armenia. Average age of the vineyards - 25 years.
Aged in bottles minimum 5 months.

Sommelier advice
: to be served at 8-10 C. Best with cheese platters, salads, chicken and vegetable dishes.
